Italian for beginners- Saturday Jan 14th (9:00am-10:00am) (10 weeks)

Italian for Beginners - Wednesday Jan. 11th (6:45pm-8:00pm) (10 weeks)
This course is designed for beginners students who have no or some exposure to the Italian language.
The syllabus will cover basic Italian expressions and situations to get the new student of Italian acclimated with the language in a fun and interactive way.
Advanced Beginners - Monday Jan. 16th (6:45pm-8:15pm) (10 weeks)
This course is designed for students that have taken ITA101 and ITA102 or have previously studied basic Italian. The course will continue to work on building conversational skills while increasing vocabulary and strengthen basic grammatical structures.
The Certification of Italian as a Foreign Language (Certificazione di Italiano come Lingua Straniera or CILS) is a qualification offered by the Foreigners University of Siena for foreign speakers of the Italian language, recognizing various levels of language proficiency. The qualification is recognized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is often used to grant acceptance in any Italian university or higher education institution in Italy.

May 13th, 2017 - Children/Adolescents (A1, A2, B1)
June 8th, 2017 - Adults (all levels)
The AP Italian Language and Culture course engages students who are preparing to take the AP Italian exam in a deep exploration of the Italian language and culture. Students will develop advanced communication skills in Italian by applying interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational skills in real-life situations. This includes vocabulary usage, language control, communication strategies, and cultural awareness. Additionally, the AP Italian Language and Culture course develops students’ awareness and appreciation of cultural products (e.g., tools, books, music, conventions, institutions); practices (patterns of social interactions within a culture); and perspectives (values, attitudes, and assumptions). (10 weeks)
